ABOUT Clean: A New Generation in Recovery Speaks Out
In the Introduction to Clean, which you can read here, Chris Beckman talks about what it was like to be on MTV's The Real World: Chicago during the early days of his sobriety, and how recovery for people in their teens to 30 is different "and sometimes feels nearly impossible." Although the book is aimed at young people, Chris is "realistic" about who he'll reach.
"Many folks I used to party with are still submerged in the subculture of drugs, clubs, and sex, and of being consumed by useless things," he writes. "But maybe you’re their best friend. Or their mom or dad or sister or brother. I wrote this book for you too.
